Physicians Who Recommend or Prescribe Kratom

A public registry of documented physician recommendations for kratom as a medical treatment.

About This Registry

This registry is reserved for licensed physicians who have publicly documented an affirmative recommendation or reported prescribing kratom for the treatment of a medical condition.

Inclusion requires verifiable documentation, such as a peer-reviewed publication, recorded professional statement, clinical guidance, or an attributable public recommendation.

Reports describing patients who independently use kratom do not qualify as physician endorsements. Nor does research on kratom, discussion of harm reduction, or acknowledgment of patient-reported benefits establish that a physician recommends its use.

Kratom is not approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to treat any medical condition. A physician's recommendation is distinct from a prescription for an FDA-approved medication.

Evidence and Submissions

The absence of published entries is not proof that no physician has ever recommended kratom. This page documents only recommendations supported by evidence that meets the criteria above. Qualifying sources can be reviewed and added as they are verified.

To suggest an entry, provide the physician's name, professional credentials, the exact recommendation, its date, and a link to the original public source.
